Our cellar showcases wine as carefully and thoughtfully as we hope to approach dining and hospitality. You will see an acknowledgment to the storied regions of Champagne, Burgundy, Rhône, and Madeira— bottles from these regions were likely to populate the original 18th-century cellar at The Clifton– and were favorites of President Jefferson & Family.

Our guiding principle is to put an emphasis on terroir-driven products. This means producers who add little to their wine but the grapes themselves. There is a personal mission to match our selections broadly to the cuisine of our Executive Chef: Matthew Bousquet.

The Clifton is a special place—as its custodians – we take every step on the property to emphasize its uniqueness. The wines on our list are from equally unique places.
