Tom Tom Founders Festival
(April and October)

FESTIVAL OF THE BOOK
(MARCH)

Created to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs, civic leaders, and creators, the Tom Tom Festival is a week-long festival of ideas and culture showcasing speakers, live bands, performances, seminars and more.

Visit the Festival of the Book to partake in 150 programs encompassing readings, panel discussions and book signings held throughout downtown Charlottesville. Admission to the majority of events is free and there are adult and children's programs.

FOXFIELD RACES
(APRIL)

First held in 1978 and occurring twice annually, this steeplechase event features horse races, colorful clothing, family friendly activities, a Jack Russell Terrier Race
and plenty of great food and drink.

VIRGINIA FILM FESTIVAL
​(November)

Hosted by the University of Virginia, this film festival exhibits over 70 films, showcases more than 80 guest artists and speakers and stages related parties
​and events at venues throughout Charlottesville.
